Project SAFE is a dynamic, school-based prevention skills program, with a 30-week, 2,000 page curriculum. It was launched in 2003 in Brooklyn, New York, when community leaders recognized the need to better prepare the youth for the pressures and dangers they face in today’s world. Project SAFE currently reaches over 6,000 students a week in 17 schools and in 3 countries. Once a week during the school year, specially trained professionals empower 5th – 12th grade boys and girls, by teaching them numerous necessary life skills through interactive learning, group projects, discussion, and multi-media.
